A National Capital Area Council Pack
Pack 1343 is part of the National Capital Area Council and is chartered by Piney Branch Elementary. We have an active program of age-appropriate indoor and outdoor activities and meetings. We serve children ages kindergarten through fifth grade and their families from Piney Branch, Bristow Run Elementary and surrounding area.
Our Pack meetings are usually held on a Monday evening at Piney Branch Elementary. At each monthly meeting we recognize the work and achievement of our Cub Scouts as they progress through the many achievements and elective requirements in the program.
Pack 1343 is a family friendly Cub Scout Pack. We encourage families to attend the Pack meetings together and to participate in many of our activities as a family. Cub Scouting provides wonderful opportunities for Cub Scouts and their families to share experiences, work together, and have fun. We are always looking for new activities for the Scouts and encourage their parents to get involved.

Cub Scouting has the following purposes:
• Influences a youth's character development and spiritual growth.
• Develop habits and attitudes of good citizenship.
• Encourage sportsmanship and pride. Grow strong in mind and body.
• Improve understanding within the family.
• Strengthen a youth's ability to get along with others.
• Foster personal achievement. Develop new interests and skills.
• Provide fun and exciting new things to do.
• Show a youth how to be helpful and do his/her best.
• Prepare each scout to enter the Scouts BSA program.
