Hello Pack 1343 Families!

We hope everyone is enjoying a relaxing and adventure-filled summer break! Whether your family is traveling, hiking, swimming, camping, or simply enjoying slower days at home, we hope your Cub Scout is making great memories along the way.

Summer is also a great time to take a peek at your Cub Scout’s upcoming rank electives. Many adventures can easily be completed during everyday family activities like walks, bike rides, cooking together, visiting parks, helping in the community, or exploring nature. Take pictures, track your adventures, and most importantly, have fun together!

We cannot wait to kick off another exciting Scouting year with all of you this fall.

A Note from the Cubmaster

As we prepare for another exciting year of Scouting adventures, we need your help, especially with popcorn season!

Our Pack is currently looking for a Popcorn Kernel to help coordinate this year’s fundraiser and eventually take over the role in future years. Popcorn sales are incredibly important because they fund the majority of what our Pack does throughout the year, including awards, activities, events, camping opportunities, supplies, and more.

We also need every family to participate in popcorn sales this fall. The good news is that selling popcorn is easier than ever. Storefront sales are simple because all the setup is already handled for you. Families just show up for their scheduled shift and help sell. Scouts can also email family and friends, share online sales links, and earn money for their Scout Account.

Scout Account funds can be used toward:  Pack Dues, Class B shirts, Camping trips, Summer camp, Special activities and more

Please create your account on Trails-End.com as soon as possible and get ready for a fantastic popcorn season. Every sale helps support Pack 1343 and keeps Scouting affordable for all our families.

⚜️ Upcoming Events

Ice Cream Social and Waterway Cleanup

Join us for an afternoon of service, fun, and ice cream! This is a great opportunity for Cub Scouts to give back to the community while helping protect local wildlife and waterways. After the cleanup, we will head over to the playground for ice cream and playtime together.

Please wear comfortable clothes that can get dirty and bring:

• Water bottle

• Closed-toe shoes

• Gloves if you have them

• Sunscreen

• A great attitude!

Service projects like this are a wonderful reminder that Cub Scouts help make their communities better.

Sell Popcorn!

This year we truly need every family to participate in popcorn sales. Popcorn is our only fundraiser and directly supports all the amazing things our Cub Scouts get to do throughout the year.

Storefront sales are incredibly easy:

• Just show up

• Everything is already set up

• Sell popcorn with your Scout

• Have fun meeting people

Families can also:

• Email friends and relatives

• Share their online store link

• Post on social media

• Collect Scout Account credit for every sale

The more a Cub Scout sells, the more opportunities they can earn for camp, activities, and Pack events. Selling popcorn helps every Scout in the Pack while also helping your own Scout earn rewards.

Welcome to Scouting Night

Welcome to Scouting Night is one of our favorite events of the year!

This is a fun evening where new families can learn about Cub Scouts, meet leaders, ask questions, and see what Pack 1343 is all about. We encourage all current Cub Scouts to invite a friend who may be interested in joining.

Current Cub Scouts should wear their Class A uniform shirt, neckerchief, slide and Scout hat.  There will be games, activities, and plenty of fun as we kick off another amazing year of Scouting together.

Bring a friend and help us grow the Pack!

Annual Planning Meeting

Our annual planning meeting was a huge success! Pack leadership spent time reviewing the past year and brainstorming exciting ideas for the year ahead.

We have some fantastic events, campouts, hikes, service projects, and special activities already in the works, and we cannot wait to share more details soon. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped shape the future of Pack 1343.

This upcoming year is going to be packed with adventure.

Summer Day Camp

Summer camp was absolutely amazing this year! The weather mostly cooperated, and our Scouts showed incredible energy and enthusiasm all week long. One of the highlights was performing our Pack favorite, “Da Moose,” for the entire camp.  We also made crafts, played games, tried our hand at archery, BBs and slingshots, hiked, learned leather working, and performed skits.

Summer camp is one of the best parts of Cub Scouting because it gives Scouts the chance to build confidence, try new activities, make new friends and create memories.

If your Cub Scout missed camp this year, do not worry. There is always next summer, and popcorn sales can help cover the cost!

🙋‍♀️ Volunteer With the Pack

Pack 1343 only works because families pitch in, and we are always looking for more helping hands as we prepare for another great year. 

You do not need years of experience, expert camping skills, or a giant time commitment to help. Most roles are easier than people expect, and training and support are always provided. Truly, no one is thrown into the wilderness with just a handbook and a flashlight.

When parents volunteer, our Scouts get more adventures, stronger programs, and a better experience overall.

🔴 High Priority Needs

Popcorn Kernel Trainee

Work alongside Kat and Lenore this fall to learn the ropes before taking the lead in 2027–2028. This is our only fundraiser and helps keep pack costs low for families. Busy season is August through November, then you’re done for the year.

Assistant Cubmaster

Support Cameron and Jake with pack meetings, ceremonies, and special events. Attend one committee meeting per month. Yes, it really is that easy. 

2026–2027 Lion Den Leader

Guide our youngest Scouts as they begin their Scouting journey. Fun, rewarding, and a great way to be part of your child’s first experiences.

🟡 Additional Needs

Pack Secretary

Help keep committee meeting notes, assist with communication, update social media, and support the team in staying organized.

2026–2027 Campout Grubmaster

Plan simple menus and help organize food for two campouts per year. A great role if you want to help without a full-year commitment.

Planning Committee Members

Help shape pack events, activities, and goals. Meetings are once a month with our annual Planning Meeting coming up June 7.

If you are curious about any of these roles, please reach out. We are happy to answer questions, explain responsibilities, or let you shadow before committing. Many hands make light work, and when parents step in, our Scouts benefit the most. 

⚜️ Den Corner

If your Cub Scout needs new pieces for their uniform, the Pack Uniform Closet may be able to help! We currently have 

• 2 Wolf hats

• A Bear hat

• A Wolf neckerchief

• A Wolf sweatshirt

And if you have uniforms, hats, neckerchiefs, or Class B shirts your Scout has outgrown? Please consider donating them so another Cub Scout can use them.

Uniform donations help keep Scouting affordable for all our families and ensure every Scout can be prepared for meetings and events.

Your first den meeting will be held Monday, September 28. We cannot wait to see our Tigers begin their Scouting adventure!

Wolf Den 2

Rising Wolves, your den schedule is now available on the Pack Google Calendar. Be sure to check it out. Your first den meeting will be Monday, September 28.

Bear Den 3

Rising Bears, your den schedule is available on the Pack Google Calendar. Your first den meeting will be Thursday, September 17.

Please note the change in meeting day. Bear Den 3 will no longer meet on Mondays due to scheduling conflicts for den leadership and several families.

Webelos Den 7

Rising Webelos, your den schedule is available on the Pack Google Calendar. Your first den meeting will be Wednesday, September 16.

Arrow of Light Den 4
