⚜️ Upcoming Events
🏁 Pinewood Derby and Blue and Gold Celebration
Sunday, February 1 | 2:00–6:00 pm
Piney Branch Elementary School
Join us for one of the most exciting events of the year. The Pinewood Derby and Blue and Gold Banquet celebrate the birthday of Scouting America and showcase our Scouts creativity and sportsmanship.
This year’s banquet will be a potluck (we will provide the birthday cake), and we need everyone’s help to make this event a success. Families are invited to bring an appetizer, snack, or treat to share with our Scouting family, and we also need volunteers to assist with race operations and food serving. Please sign up using the link below to let us know how you can help.

⛺ Summer Camp
We would love for every Scout who wants to attend camp to be able to do so this year. We are excited to offer three great options:
Camp William B. Snyder Day Camp for Scouts in current kindergarten through 4th grade. This is a great choice for first-time campers or those not ready for overnight camp.
Bear Overnight Camp at Camp Snyder for current 2nd graders, designed specifically around Bear adventures and requirements.
Overnight Camp at Camp Ross in Goshen, Virginia for current 3rd and 4th graders, rising Webelos and AOLs.
The signup form is now live so we can take advantage of important cost-saving deadlines. Early-bird pricing for all three camps ends April 14, and District campership applications are due by February 1.

🚴♂️ Pack Bike Ride and Hike
Sunday, March 22 | 2:00 pm
Join us for our annual pack bike ride and hike. We will meet at the playground pavilion at Victory Elementary School, start with a brief bike safety lesson from Nova CycleWorks, and then head out. (This will meet the requirements for the bicycling adventure for every rank)
Bike riders will enjoy a group ride.
Non-bikers are welcome to join a one-mile hike along the Broad Run Trail.
If your Scout needs a bike, let us know and we will try to find one. Please remember to bring your six hiking essentials in a daypack.
⭐ Pack News
🚒 Lions and Wolves Visit the Fire Station
Our Lions and Wolves had an awesome visit to Station 25. The Scouts got a behind-the-scenes look at where firefighters sleep, eat, and spend time between calls. They explored fire engines, checked out all the gear, and even admired some impressive mustaches. A big thank you to the firefighters at Station 25 for taking the time to teach our Cubs about fire safety.
🏅 Court of Honor recap
What a fantastic Court of Honor. We had a great turnout and handed out more than 100 awards, each one representing hard work, perseverance, and growth by our Scouts. We are so proud of everything they have accomplished so far this year.
We also shared some bittersweet goodbyes as we thanked our outgoing leaders: Committee Chair Stephanie Sniffin, Chartered Organization Representative Misty Lindsey, and Treasurer Sandi Graves. Your dedication and countless hours of service have meant so much to our pack. Thank you for everything. You will be missed.
🌌 Irene V. Hylton Planetarium Visit
What an amazing time at the planetarium! We learned all about the planets, explored the wonders of space, and wrapped it all up with an awesome laser show. Huge thank you to the Irene V. Hylton Planetarium for a fantastic experience! We are already looking forward to going again next year.
⚜️ Den Corner
Wolves 🐺
February 9th, 6:30pm
Wolves are wrapping up their final required adventure, Safety in Numbers. We are learning about the buddy system, playground safety, and watching the Protect Yourself Rules video about safe touch. We are halfway through the year, and your Wolf should have all six required adventures completed except this one. Next up, we will start some fun elective adventures.
Arrows Of Light 🌅
Arrow of Light Scouts will be crossing over on March 16. Please be sure all Arrow of Light requirements are completed as we prepare for this exciting milestone. Please let Edwin or Tiffani know if you plan to join a Scouting Troop, so we can insure they are in attendance for the ceremony.
