Hello Pack 1343 Families!
We are heading into the home stretch of an amazing Scouting year, but don’t blink… we still have a lot of fun ahead of us! From fishing and campouts to our Court of Honor and summer adventures, there’s plenty to look forward to.
Below you’ll find highlights from recent events, important reminders, and everything coming up next. As always, reach out anytime with questions. We’re here for our Scouts and our families.
And seriously… don’t forget to sign up for SUMMER CAMP! ☀️
A Note from the Cubmaster
As the school year winds down, we’re already hard at work planning an even bigger and better program for next year. But here’s the truth: we can’t do it without you.
Cub Scouting is built on families stepping in, pitching in, and making the magic happen. As our Scouts grow and move on, we need new volunteers to step up and keep the program strong.
We are especially looking for:
An Assistant Cubmaster to help lead pack meetings and events
A Popcorn Kernel Trainee to learn the ropes of our annual fundraiser
Volunteers for events and planning support
If you’ve ever thought about getting more involved, now is the perfect time. Join us at our Annual Planning Meeting on June 7 and help shape the year ahead. Even a small role makes a big impact.

During the event, our Cub Scouts will receive their belt loops for completing adventures and new patches for advancing to their next rank. It’s a chance for families to see all the hard work pay off and to celebrate together as a Pack. Do your Best to attend.

⭐ Pack News
Bring a Friend to Scouts Night 🫶🏼
We had an awesome night and a ton of fun with games and activities. It was great seeing so many new faces join us. A big thank you to the Prince William County Sheriff’s Department for providing child ID cards for our families. That was a huge hit and such a valuable service.
⛅️ Fishing at New Bristow Village Pond 🎣
The weather started out a bit chilly, but that didn’t slow us down one bit. Scouts and families bundled up, cast their lines, and enjoyed a great afternoon out by the water. The fish were definitely biting as nearly everyone reeled in at least one fish. It was especially rewarding to see 15 Scouts earn their fishing adventure, a great accomplishment and an afternoon well spent.
🙋♀️ Volunteer With the Pack
Pack 1343 runs on parent involvement, and we would love to grow our leadership team for next year. Whether you have a little time or a lot, there is a role for you. Training and support are always provided.
🔴 High Priority Needs
Popcorn Kernel Trainee
Work alongside Kat and Lenore this fall to learn the ropes before taking the lead in 2027–2028. This is our only fundraiser and helps keep pack costs low for families. Busy season is August through November, then you’re done for the year.
Assistant Cubmaster
Support Cameron and Jake with pack meetings, ceremonies, and special events. Attend one committee meeting per month. Yes, it really is that easy.
2026–2027 Lion Den Leader
Guide our youngest Scouts as they begin their Scouting journey. Fun, rewarding, and a great way to be part of your child’s first experiences.
🟡 Additional Needs
Pack Secretary
Help keep committee meeting notes, assist with communication, update social media, and support the team in staying organized.
2026–2027 Campout Food Coordinator
Plan simple menus and help organize food for two campouts per year. A great role if you want to help without a full-year commitment.
Planning Committee Members
Help shape pack events, activities, and goals. Meetings are once a month with our annual Planning Meeting coming up June 7.
If you are curious about any of these roles, please reach out. We are happy to answer questions, explain responsibilities, or let you shadow before committing. Many hands make light work, and when parents step in, our Scouts benefit the most.
⚜️ Den Corner
As we approach the end of the year, please be sure to review your scout’s progress toward their rank. All requirements need to be recorded in Scoutbook by May 12. We’re excited to celebrate everyone’s hard work! If you have any questions, reach out to your Den Leader.
Wolf Den 3 🐺
Monday, May 11
We will be working on the fun elective Germs Alive. In this adventure, you’ll learn how to keep your body healthy by exploring germs, hygiene, and everyday habits like washing hands, covering sneezes, and keeping your space clean. As it is our final meeting there will also be plenty of time for fun.
Bear Den 6 🐻
Wednesday, May 6
For our final Den meeting, Bears will be working on the adventure, Chef Tech. Cooking is a great way to see how technology has changed our lives. From cooking over a fire to using a stove or microwave, this adventure explores how technology shapes the way we prepare food.
Webelos Den 4 ⚜️
Sunday, May 3
We will be working on one last elective to finish up our time as Webelos. Please be sure to work on any remaining requirements at home. We want all of our Webelos to earn their rank before we advance to the exciting world of Arrows of Light!
